Welcoming New Dancer Juliana!

Today is officially the first day of rehearsal for Julianna Monin: AXIS’ new dancer! And thus we want to officially introduce her to all of you.

" Although dance is often thought of as the duplication of form, it is fundamentally the natural outpouring of each person’s moving, breathing, beating life. I am so proud to be part of an organization that is on the forefront of making dance for every body and putting this idea into the public mind. " - Juliana Monin

Juliana grew up in the Bay Area and began dancing at the ripe old age of three. She graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College with a degree in psychology, danced professionally in New York, and has taught yoga throughout North America, Asia, Europe, and the South Pacific.  In the Bay Area she has danced for Nina Haft and Company, Lizz Roman and Dancers, and Chris Black/POTRZEBIE Dance Project, and works regularly with director Molly Aaronson-Gelb making movement for theater.  She feels blessed to have the opportunity to do what she loves, as she has so enjoyed the transformative power of bodily expression, and wishes to thank her parents, teachers, and friends for all their love and support.

This afternoon I peeked into the studio and took some snapshots of Juliana rehearsing with rest of the company. Welcome to the AXIS family Juliana! We are excited about working with you.
